Christian Schaefer Featured this album on the twelvth issue of RULE of THREE (bit.ly/RULEofTHREEbc). Right on cue enter New Politicians with Been In The Wars. It’s a fabulous track with lots of really strong elements including a great vocal hook. When the chorus comes around it just lifts your spirits and in comes that guitar line again. This is sing-along brilliance that gets better with age. A timeless classic. Favorite track: Been in the Wars.

okkibox To me this is one of the most interesting discoveries of 2015 until now. I love their great talent of songwriting. This album definitely sounds better than the fifth and last Interpol album! Favorite track: The Idealist.

K K I have no doubt my favorite track will change over time. The album is dark and shimmering and beautiful. I love Drag a City and Alpha Decay, but this album feels like the band has really settled into their skin and their sound, and there's a shimmer to the melodies that is more developed on this album than on the previous EPs. There's not a weak song on here. Perfect album for late night listening. Favorite track: Cut a Hole.

Revelator 04:02
Never one for a change of heart Not my scene but I’ve played the part In a cage of lions, just caged up liars Face to face, limb by limb, east to west I’ve always found that the spades dance best I need a remedy to enlighten me Of feelings and phases Love that we’ve wasted Your memory is a fantasy The distance, the places Oh how you’ve jaded A lie to please, down on your knees The savior in me can’t feel your disease Number one under all the stars Not my queen but you play the part With the weight of diamonds, your contradiction incision Time to live, time to lie Let’s start a religion, a premonition division Scars will run deep In time they are a pawn Scars will run deep In time they are a pawn They get you into trouble And they do you harm Scars will run deep Yeah, in time they are a pawn

Cut a Hole 04:39
Cross your heart hope you die falling into her Sever ties bat those eyes, she's bulletproof Winter comes and she's higher than the building tops Love and pain, minds insane, hoped the hunting would stop So you cut a hole too deep Deep as the river that runs through the veins, she said to you Lay me on the bed Lie to me instead Name you a thousand stars Couldn't ever get that far Light this all in flames Burn the light of day Misery fades to grey She will lure your soul away She will stun, no way out, you're on the run She has the perfect touch, gives it up, now you're the one In relation to her carousel mascaraed Is it what you show or what you say? So you cut a hole too deep Deep as the river that runs through the veins, she said to you

You gave her a pulse She gave you a heartache Yet out of all these faces You still see her ghost In your dreams And with every step you take All the moves you make We’ve been here before You’ve been in the wars With the wait to find that our Love is a war we wage Filled with the words we hate Promises not the same Even though she’s miles away The battle was won You sailed through the oceans Yet out of all these places She still holds the sun In her hands Love is a war we wage Filled with the words we hate Endings to make you see Scenes they weren’t meant to be Promises not the same Even though she’s miles away

Images 04:15
Sound the alarm Color swarms below A calm before the storm The faintest memories You call out to your post The father, son, holy ghost Her potions seem to settle Her position in the middle of it all Just shattered images Broken dreams that lay ahead And in all of the ways that she lusts, a misguided mystery Of shattered images Broken dreams that lay ahead And it's all of the ways that she bends that keep you diving into her seas She is something you can't diagnose The sounds, the pictures, the prose You couldn't make it any farther You've been treading under water Sticks and stones will break your bones Words they hurt like hell She talked too soon, she picked and spooned Yet you're underneath her spell It's all of the pictures she's painted All of the pictures she's painted I paint myself I hate myself I paint myself I paint myself out

Killer on the mend Clouds beyond the bend So cold Shapes in maps, love condemned She glows Satellite a far Silver lining star In bold Shapes in maps, love condemned She glows Killer on the mend So cold Satellite a far She glows

Remission 06:37
I am the machine, I am a setting sun left unseen Filter the light away bound by Eden where we stay Existence is melody, are you the enemy? Weathered my sympathy is this the end of me? I am the obscene I am a void between truth and deceit Plan the same escape, awake in a mine field full of pain We are all dead or dying, just about to die in the end, theme for a pen Lonesome is the heart awaiting your feral embrace, fatal disdain Just so you know Baby I will let you down Have the record show Maybe you would let me drown Should’ve told you so Before I could break you down, now Just let me go Surely I will lay you then let you down I am the machine, I am a monument kept unclean Existence is melody, are you the enemy? Weathered my empathy is this the end of me? I am the obscene, I am an artifact left by disease Always the same mistake, a day in the life when our sins wash away We are an entity, a vile lament, a broken compound to weigh my soul down If ignorance is bliss then I must confess and come clean before it sinks me Among the stars in the sky, you are the moon in my eyes Lay me down in the sun, dig our graves one by one Into the ground we shall lay, enshrine the vows that we made Say the words stay on track ‘til our hearts fade to black I’ll climb up to the heavens, pull god down from his throne Mistletoe, so you know we will stay gold forever I’ll climb up to the heavens, pull god down from his throne Slit his throat, so you know, we will, we will

The Idealist 04:29
From beginning of time love consuming my mind For you always, for you in the all the ways You’ve been living the lie, you feel you’ve defined Veer the soulless, invent the soul less Insignificant ways that we bare ourselves to waste Break before the bend, fall before the land Faintly sensitive Well I’m made for that Through the muck and the mire This love will inspire Go find a better man Then you will seek And be deceived Just know you’re the only one In my dreams I perceive Romance the sentiment, fearless in your lament Find the meaningless, find a meaning with less Lie still within the pain, idle hands will change fate We are the only ones, we are the lonely ones From beginning of time love consuming my mind For you always, for you in all the ways Faintly sensitive Well I’m made for that Through the much and the mire This love will expire You were cynical, you were mine You are magical, here in time You are beautiful in my mind You were whimsical You were, you were
